Highland County Public Schools will be conducting a lockdown drill this week. It's an important safety measure to ensure that everyone is prepared and knows what to do in case of an emergency.

Dear Parents and Families of Highland County Public Schools,
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the recent HVAC issue at the Elementary school. We had HVAC professionals on-site since before school started today, diligently working on repairing the furnace. I'm happy to inform you that the furnace has now been fixed, and our classrooms are returning to a comfortable temperature.
During the repair process, our teachers were able to utilize classrooms in the High School, where the furnace was functioning properly. We apologize for any inconvenience or discomfort this may have caused our dedicated staff and students while the repairs were underway.
Thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this situation. We always strive to create a comfortable and conducive learning environment for our students, and we appreciate your continued support.

Due to the potential for refreezing on the secondary roads and an issue with our Elementary School furnace, Highland County Public Schools will be on a 2-hour delay on January 22, 2024.
