Head Start is excited to offer the Conscious Discipline 7-Week Parent Program, available exclusively for Preschool families. This meaningful program is designed to support parents as we work together to build lifelong social-emotional skills in our children.
π Begins Wednesday, January 28
π» Offered online via Zoom
Each week, families will explore one skill and one power of Conscious Discipline, focusing on topics such as composure, empathy, encouragement, choices, and positive intent. These skills help children learn emotional regulation, responsibility, kindness, and problem-solvingβskills they will carry with them for life.
π§ This is an βadult-firstβ model, reminding us that we cannot teach skills we do not practice ourselves.
π Families who attend will receive Conscious Discipline resources each week to use at home.
While attending all sessions is encouraged, families are welcome to join any sessions that fit their schedules.
We invite our Preschool families to take this journey with us as we explore a positive, supportive approach to discipline and connection.

The sixth grade gifted students completed a project to "scale down" the Solar System. βοΈ First, they created a model of the sun that measured 100 cm in diameter. Next, they computed the relative size of each of the planets when compared to the scaled down sun. Finally, they converted astronomical units into scaled down distances from the sun in order to get an idea of how far each planet is from the sun. They used this data to create and display a model in the high school hallway. πͺπ

On the last day of school before Christmas break,
Something sneaky arrivedβfor goodnessβ sake!
Down the hallway he crept with a mischievous grin,
It was the Grinch himself⦠with Cindy Lou Who tagging in!
He peeked in our classrooms, expecting some fright,
But instead found our school full of cheer and delight.
βNo ribbons! No tags!β he said with a stare,
Yet joy filled the halls and laughter the air.
Cindy Lou smiled, spreading kindness galore,
While the Grinchβs heart grewβmaybe three sizes or more!
No Christmas was stolen, not even a clue,
Just memories made and holiday cheer, too.
A perfect sendoff before break began,
Even the Grinch couldnβt ruin this holiday plan! ππ
