Welcome to Highland Elementary School!

I am so excited about the 2023-2024 school year!

School will begin each day at 8:15 am with a warning bell at 8:10. Student are allowed to enter the building and eat breakfast from 7:50 to 8:10. The school day ends at 3:15 pm.  Please remember, school attendance is extremely important and will be monitored closely. You can read the student handbook for more details.

One of our main goals is teaching children to read.  Please help by reading to your child daily. In addition, once your child knows how to read, have them read for 15/20 minutes daily at their independent level. Our goal is to instill a love for reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

If your child has food allergies, special medication, or uses an inhaler, please contact the school at (540) 468-6360, to obtain the appropriate form.  All medications must be delivered to the school office by a parent or authorized adult.  Students are not permitted to transport medication.

Please ensure that the office has an up to date email for you on file. Our weekly newsletter will be sent home via Smore in your email every Friday once school begins. You will also be able to access it and other pertinent links below.
