Last week, Delegate Runion stopped by to speak with several middle and high school classes. He discussed the key differences between federal, state, and local governments, as well as the contrasts between urban and rural governance. 🌍🏛️
One student even took a moment to thank Delegate Runion, expressing appreciation for his visit, especially since it's not often that politicians come to Highland to hear about local issues. 👏
We’re grateful for his time and insight!

Commonwealth Conversation on Restoring Childhood Through Common Sense Approaches to Social Media and Cell Phones
On the evening of September 19, the First Lady and Dr. Haidt convened a fireside chat and discussed the findings of Haidt’s book The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness and how it informs our communities and schools in limiting social media and cell phone use to help restore childhood and play.
Parents, families, students, and community members are encouraged to watch the recording and engage in conversations on cell phones and social media's effects on children.

🍪🍽️ Over the past two weeks, our Culinary Arts class has been on a mission to find the perfect cutout cookies for the Elementary School students' literacy program—and we did it! 🦇 After testing several recipes, we baked delicious bat-shaped cookies and delivered them to the elementary classrooms this morning. 📚 While there, we talked with the students about how important reading is in cooking. A big shoutout to Jade, Jordan, Wyatt, Hunter, and Zack for their hard work! 👏 Great job, team!
