HIGHLAND DRAMA CLUB PRESENTS A DECEMBER PERFORMANCE

School Community,
On Christmas Day, a pipe burst in the back of the kitchen in the Highland Elementary School. This resulted in water in the kitchen, cafeteria, the art/music hall and classrooms, and the south end of the elementary hall. Thanks to the timely notification of the alarm system by a community member, school staff were able to turn off the water and begin the cleaning process. The prompt response of our staff helped minimize the impact on our school and classrooms.
Currently, we are working to clean the impacted locations. We are also coordinating with repair companies to address the burst pipe. Hopefully, we will have the school operational for students next week.
Sincerely,
Dr. Drew R. Maerz

Radio Club 6th grade Group 1 brings some cheer to the station.

Highland County Public Schools will be virtual for all students on Friday, December 16, 2022. All assignments will be posted by 9:00 am.
This decision is due to the continued ice accumulation in the county (especially in the upper elevations), freezing temperatures throughout the night, and reports of trees down. In addition, we are having issues with our Elementary Boiler and will continue to work on a repair throughout the day.
The Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening, December 15th, has been cancelled.
Due to a winter weather advisory and the potential for freezing rain, Highland County Public Schools will be virtual tomorrow, Thursday, December 15th.
