📚🎉 October is Literacy Month, and we’re celebrating with our theme “Bats at the Library.” Throughout the month, students will participate in various activities, including field trips to caverns, bat programs, and science activities. Don't miss our BATAPALOOZA Family Literacy Night on October 24 from 6-8 PM, with lite snacks provided! 🦇📖✨

Students in grades 6-12 at Highland High School are invited to submit their original artwork for consideration as the yearbook cover. Submissions are due by October 16th at 8:30 AM. Our lockdown drill was a great success! A huge thank you to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, the Local Emergency Prepardness team, and our EMS teams for their invaluable support and participation. A special shoutout to our students and staff—they did an outstanding job during the drill, demonstrating their readiness and cooperation.

👨‍🍳🍏 Today, our Culinary Arts class concluded their Apple Fest with a delicious finale! After making and canning 9 pints of apple butter from apples gathered from our playground, the students baked fresh biscuits to enjoy with their homemade apple butter. Each student took home a pint, and we opened one today to savor with our biscuits. A huge shoutout to Hunter, Jade, Jordan, Wyatt, and Zac for your fantastic work and creativity throughout the project. You all did an amazing job! 🍎🥐🌟

At last night's meeting, the Highland County School Board placed Tammy Minnigh on the VSBA Media Honor Roll, calling attention to the ongoing responsibility and exemplary nature of reporting on our school. Congratulations to Tammy on this well-deserved honor!
