✨🔭 Our Highland Elementary gifted students recently enjoyed an exciting educational trip to the Green Bank Observatory! Students toured the grounds and discovered a variety of incredible radio telescopes, including the Green Bank Telescope (GBT)—the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the United States! 🤯 It stands over 300 feet tall with an aperture the size of a football field! 🏈📡 Students also explored interactive exhibits and put their engineering skills to the test in a fun challenge—building telescope towers out of paper strong enough to hold canned food! 🛠️📚 To top off a fantastic day of learning, everyone enjoyed a pizza party at the Starlight Café! 🍕🌟 What an amazing hands-on experience exploring science, engineering, and the wonders of space! 🚀💙💛
