EAST HARDY, W.Va. — Behind multiple personal-best efforts, the Highland track team continued to tune up for the postseason here last Thursday.
Brooke Williams won two individual events and teamed with Colleen Adams, Adelaide Baxter and Amelia Good for a 4×100-meter relay win for the Rams in a meet that featured nine teams.
Williams won both the 200-meter dash (26.13) and 400-meter dash (1:03.29) for Highland and helped the relay team to a time of 53.34.
Baxter added a third in the 100 (13.68), while Adams tied for second in the high jump (4-4).
Williams scored 13½ points for the Ram girls, who finished fifth in the field.
The Highland boys totaled 14½ points and finished sixth in the team standings.
Luke Baxter won the 1,600 (5:09.75) and was second in the 800 (2:04.49), Zach Armstrong was fourth in the 400 (57.90) and Elijah Good was fourth in the discus (107-7).
The Rams were scheduled to run at Alleghany on Tuesday and will participate in the Pioneer District championships on Monday at Narrows High School.
