ALLEGHENY HIGHLANDS — Bath County sophomore Trinity Forbes and Highland senior Zach Armstrong were named to the second team of the All-Class 1, Region C all-region basketball team recently.

Forbes scored 343 points, good for an 18.1 point per game average, while contributing 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.6 assists per game for the Chargers.

Armstrong closed out his Ram basketball career with an 18.4 point per game scoring average this past season (367 points in 20 games), while adding eight rebounds, five assists and three steals a contest.

Owen Jackson of Fort Chiswell was the boys’ Player of the Year, while Fort’s Derrick Jackson was the Coach of the Year.

The Pioneers lost to Luray in the Class 1 state championship game in overtime, 84-82.

State champion Galax swept the girls’ top awards.

Maroon Tide freshman Rylee Hawks was the Player of the Year and Patrick Puckett was the Coach of the Year.
