I go with my Momma to a barn. There are moo moos with them. There are three turkeys. They are blue, white, and yellow. I pick the yellow one. You feed him food. He likes grass. Me pick him up. Me put him in the truck. Daddy drives home. Daddy take him clothes off. Take the feathers in the house, in the trash can. Put turkey in the bathtub. Wash his butt. I tell him β€œdon’t move!” We not gonna eat that turkey. He in my bed with my moo moo. He bite me! He go in the oven 5 days at fiery hot! Put him on table. Eat him with mashed potatoes. Nawnie and Poppy and Bubbies and Mommy and Daddy, Statcy eats with me. Go play!

Allison, age 4

My Mom and Daddy and grands go to the barn. Turkey in the barn. My mom catch it! She runs. She runs and catch it! She cuts β€˜em and pulls them off. Put feathers in hat. Baby took it! Yes! Turkey runs away. He at my home. Him dirty. Put β€˜em in bath tub with me! I clean β€˜em with rag. Put in microwave for 3 hours at crispy. Eat blueberries and candy. Go outside with Grandad and Nana and Grandma and Papaw.

Annie, age 3

I don’t have a turkey. I only have a cat and a dog. Mommy said for my birthday I get a Barbie and puppy that talks! I had a spider in my nose and I say achoo! And it come out and I cut it! I go Grandma Harriet. She go to the farm. She gets the pink sparkleala one! Go home and wash it. I help her! I shave his beard and feathers off. I cook it in my oven for 10 minutes at 6. I put it in my tummy! I throw it outside. The dog eats the bone. We eat tatoes, gravy and cookies and cake! Do nothing! Daddy clean it all up!

Autumn, age 4

Turkey walks to my house. My mom and my dad go. My dad goes up in the tree. My dad has four guns. My dad shoot turkey. Put in fire. Long time. My dad makes cookies.

Colby, age 4

Go to my barn at my house. My momma and dad go with me. Go upstairs and find a turkey. He just went up there. I tackle him with my bare hands. I shoot him with my dad’s gun. The End

Corbin, age 3

The turkey is at Mommy’s farm. His name is a Q. Momma gonna catch with a rope. It’s fat. It’s in the barn. I don’t want to kill him. We eat chicken. Cook in the pan. My Mommy, my Daddy and nobody eat with me.

Isadora, age 3

I go to McDonald’s. I order a turkey. They put it in a box and you have a toy. They put apples with it. Nothing else. I eat it in the car. I throw it in the car backseat. My sister say β€œaaahhh” and throws it on the floor. My sister throws my toy. We go to Walmart. We just buy all the toys! We spend the whole day. Go to Mamaw and Pawpaw’s house. We play with our toys. They throw our toys in the trash β€˜cause they break. Pawpaw throws me and then he tickles me! He loves me! Mamaw loves me a whole lot!

Kylie, age 4

I gonna go on my farm. I’m going hunting in my mom’s barn. I’ll catch β€˜em in the face. I’ll grab his beak. I’m gonna wrestle him on the ground. I’m gonna give him to my mom. My mom is gonna throw him in the pit. He’ll catch my little chickens. I’ll have to grab him in his eye. I’m gonna shave the feathers. I’m not gonna cook him so he can run around. I wanna wrestle him. I’m gonna eat macaroni and chicken with lots and lots of ketchup. My grandpa and my dad are gonna eat with me. And my mom and Nana and Papaw and Great Grandaddy are gonna sit beside me. I’m gonna play outside with Evie Rose and SJ. We play tag. I win!

Lainey, age 3

We go to my garden. Turkeys come out. They come out everywhere! I catch β€˜em with a net. I cook them into a cake. Strawberry cake. I cut them and they get a slice. Then I eat. Just cake. Just my mom and my dad and my sisters eat with me. I invited my nana, mammy and granddaddy. But they didn’t want to come. They were taking a nap!

Luella, age 4

I go to the store. My mommy goes with me. We go to Walmart. Go to the toy shelf. Pick the pretty one. She has beads. Go home. Cook it in the microwave for 4 hours at hot temperature. It spins. Eat it! My mommy and daddy eat with me. We eat hots dogs and ice cream. We play doll house. Take a nap!

Nova, age 4

Me and my grandad go in the woods to get a turkey. Go up in the tree, millions and millions the way up. We shoot it in the eye. In muzzo-loader, him shot a deer with a gun. We make deer pie. Cut off the feathers with my grandad’s knife. He has to cut it. One day I cut my finger. I didn’t cut it off. I just put a band aid on it. Put the turkey on the stove. Grandad, Grandma, Daddy Jake, J.D., and Kim eat with me. Corbin needs me. I’ll be right back. Don’t worry I’ll come back before dark.

Ryan, age 4

Daddy go in the woods with me. I’m not afraid! Go behind my house. Look in the ground. Find a trail. He shakes his head. Looks for feathers. Look! In the tree! I’m gonna shoot! I shoot em! He fall on my head! Shave his head with my daddy’s knife. Take β€˜em at my house. Cook β€˜em in the fire till he’s bigger. The fire broke! Daddy saws it. We eat it! Eat with chips, marshmallows, and mac β€˜n cheese with my dad. My teacher eats with me. Mrs. Thomas is nice! I love you! My grandma and my momma and my dad, my sister, Colt at my house. My daddy got a big truck at my house!

Tucker, age 4

I go hunting with Mommy. Oh my gosh! Gotta go back to the house. The dog was barking. The dog ran off. It ran into a shunk. The shunk peed on her. On Diva! Oh my gosh! Took β€˜em to the pond. He fell into the water. I get β€˜em out! He walking by himself. He turnin’ by himself. I don’t want turkey. I’m gonna have a sucker.

Will, age 4

On Valentine’s Thanksgiving you go out into the woods. I go in the dark, dark, dark, it’s super dark! I’ll hurt myself. I’ll say, β€œouch!” But I need to find my turkey! I’ll bring my pistol and my turkey gun. It has a turkey light on it. It makes light go all around. I have to wait for a noise. Gobble, gobble. Listen for it! I go around. β€œWhat’s that noise?” I get the gun out and go β€œboom.” It was heavy! It was this big! It was a daddy turkey. It has a beard like my daddy. I put it on my battery tractor and I drive it to my house and I threw it inside. It didn’t have any feathers. Put it in the fire for 96 minutes. Eat with marshmallows, mac β€˜n cheese, smores and pumpkin pie. I asked my family to eat with me and they said no. Mrs. Thomas will eat with me at 5 o’clock.
