CHARLOTTESVILLE — The athletic programs at Bath County High School and Highland High School are among 66 schools from across the commonwealth that have been recognized by the Virginia High School League.
Both the Chargers and Rams are winners of the VHSL Stay in the Game Award, recognizing schools that did not have a player ejection during the fall, winter and spring seasons.
Joining Bath and Highland on the award list is fellow Pioneer District member Eastern Montgomery, along with Carroll County, Floyd County and Patrick County from the Three Rivers District.
In addition, Eastern Montgomery was awarded the 2024-25 Claudia Dodson VHSL Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award, which recognizes member schools that have established policies and procedures that make sportsmanship a priority and an expectation within the school and school community. The selection process includes a self-assessment and a peer review.
East Mont joins Chilhowie, Floyd E. Kellam, Goochland, Tallwood and York in winning the award.
