ALLEGHENY HIGHLANDS β Bath and Highland teamed up to place 13 student-athletes on the All-Pioneer District baseball team.
The Rams landed seven spots on the honor team, with six Chargers earning honors.
Highland all-district players:
β’ John Wagner, senior, first-team pitcher: Wagner started 11 games on the mound, striking out 70 hitters in 54.1 innings, while recording six wins. He hit .467, 21-for-45, with 21 walks, 26 runs scored and 19 RBI.
β’ Zach Armstrong, junior, first-team first baseman: Armstrong hit a team-high .469, 23-for-49, with four home runs, 25 runs batted in, 17 walks and 30 runs scored. He also pitched 21.1 innings in 10 appearances, striking out 31.
β’ Eli Moore, senior, second-team catcher: Moore was 18-of-52 at the plate, hitting .346, with three home runs, 17 runs scored and 23 RBI.
β’ Elijah Good, junior, second-team second baseman: Good just missed being the sixth Ram to hit .400, going 19-for-48 for a .396 average. He drove in 17 runs and scored 12 times.
β’ Patton Hull, junior, second-team outfielder: The leadoff man in the line-up, Hull hit at a .359 clip, 23-for-64, led the Rams with six doubles, scored 29 runs and drove home nine.
β’ Evan Kimble, senior, second-team designated hitter: Kimble stroked 21 hits in 50 at-bats for a .420 average, had 21 RBI and scored 16 runs.
β’ Tristan Carpenter, senior, honorable mention: Carpenter hit .415, 22-for-53, scored 17 runs and drove in 10 more.
Bath County all-district players:
β’ Wyatt Campbell, senior, first-team second baseman: Campbell ended the year with a .393 average, 22-for-56, scored a team-high 24 runs, drove in seven and stole 20 bases.
β’ Owen Perdue, junior, first-team designated hitter: Perdue hit .446, 25-for-56, with 17 RBI and 18 runs scored.
β’ Nathan Hunt, junior, second-team pitcher: Hunt led Bath in innings pitched with 32, striking out 40. He also hit .288, 15-for-52, drove in eight runs and scored eight times.
β’ Issac Ingram, senior, second-team pitcher: Ingram notched four pitching wins in 11 appearances and 26.2 innings, punching out 40. He also led the Chargers with a .500 batting average, 29-for-58, 23 runs scored and 17 RBI.
β’ Gunnar Whiddon, freshman, honorable mention: Whiddon was a steady force behind the plate, while hitting .265, 13-for-49, driving in 12 runs and scoring eight times.
β’ Cooper Lowry, senior, honorable mention: Lowry started nine games on the mound, had 12 pitching appearances and struck out 33 in 30.2 innings. He added a .351 year at the plate, drove in a team-best 21 runs and scored 11.
