MONTEREY — A 10-run top of the fifth in Buena Vista and two nine-run innings in Monterey.
Three big frames added up to two big Pioneer District victories for the Highland baseball team last week.
The Rams won at Parry McCluer on Tuesday, 12-8, before a 19-4 five-inning home win over Craig County on Thursday.
The Fighting Blues led Highland 5-2 through four and a half, but the visitors exploded for the 10 spot to take command.
The Rams had eight hits in the inning, including two apiece from Zach Armstrong and Evan Kimble.
Armstrong ended the night with three hits and three runs scored, while Patton Hull, John Wagner, Kimble and Tristan Carpenter had two hits apiece. Eli Moore, Elijah Good and Zack Wright each had one hit.
Hull and Wagner scored two runs apiece and Kimble and Wright drove in two each.
Wagner got the mound win, allowing eight hits and five earned runs, while striking out seven and walking five in 4.2 innings. Armstrong pitched the final 2.1 innings, giving up three hits, one run, striking out three and walking three.
Braedyn Houck had two hits and drove in three runs for Parry McCluer.
Tied at 1-all, Highland scored nine times in the bottom of the third and nine more in the fourth in the home win over the Rockets.
Armstrong keyed the third-inning outburst with a grand slam home run and Wagner hit a two-run blast in the fourth.
Armstrong had two hits, scored three runs and drove in five, Good added three hits and had four RBI, while Eli Moore and Levi Warner added two hits each to the 12-hit Ram offensive attack. Hull, Wagner and Carpenter all had one apiece.
Hull, Moore and Carpenter all scored three times and Wagner and Warner drove in three each.
Wright allowed the only two Rocket hits and one unearned run in four innings of work on the mound, grabbing the win. Moore, Good and Hull all pitched in relief.
Isaac Lucas had a hit, scored a run and drove in one for Craig County.
