HARRISONBURG β Jazmine Douglas ran her fastest time at her final meet.
It was a fitting closure to the seniorβs Highland track career.
Douglas placed 17th in the 200-meter dash at the Class 1 state championship meet last Friday at James Madison University, running a personal best time of 28.54.
βShe ran a personal best to finish out her career in track at Highland County,β said Rams coach Colby Jackson. βShe can look back and say she was 17th in the state overall in the 200-meter dash and be proud of her accomplishment. She worked hard to get to that point and to finish with her best time is a nice final stamp on that effort.β
Douglas competed at the state meet in the 100-meter dash as a freshman and narrowly missed qualifying a year ago. She reclassified as a senior this school year.
βWe started off our track program with Jazmine and Zalea (Good) competing for the girls,β Jackson added. βIt was nice to be able to see both of them compete at their best in the region and Jazmine at state.β
