MONTEREY — Highland’s boys earned a fourth Pioneer District victory at home Monday night.

Zach Armstrong hit three threes, had 16 points and five rebounds for the Rams in a big 53-43 victory over Craig County.

The win lifted Highland’s record to 4-5 in the district and 8-9 overall.

John Wagner added a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double, three assists and three steals for the winners, Eli Moore chipped in 10 points, Elijah Good hauled in 11 rebounds to go with seven points and Patton Hull had six points.

Highland led 26-19 at the half.

Matthew Lucas scored 17 points for the Rockets and Hayden Reynolds added 16.

The Rams defeated Richwood, W.Va., last Wednesday, 58-25.

Wagner and Good both had double-doubles.

Wagner led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Good scored 17 points and had a team-high 14 boards.

Armstrong added 12 points and six assists, Hull had three assists and three steals and Moore pulled in 12 rebounds and blocked two shots.

Trae Trivolette scored 10 points for the Lumberjacks.

On Friday, the Rams dropped a 45-30 decision to Eastern Montgomery.

Moore had 10 points, Armstrong scored nine and Wagner had eight.

Cyrus Underwood topped all scorers with 15 points for the Mustangs.

The Rams played at Richwood, W.Va. on Wednesday before closing their regular season on Friday against district-leading Narrows.

Highland will be at home on Monday for a first-round Pioneer District Tournament game.

The Rams, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, will host No. 5 Bath County with a spot in the Class 1, Region C tournament on the line.
