BUENA VISTA — Highland pushed across five runs in the top of the seventh here last Tuesday, scoring a big 13-8 Pioneer District softball win over Parry McCluer.

The Blues loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the inning, but Ram pitcher Sarah Liller got a strikeout and two flyouts to Amelia Good in left field to end the game.

Liller struck out seven in earning the complete-game win.

Colleen Adams went 4-for-5 and drove in two runs for the Rams, Makynley Smith had two hits and drove in three runs and Good, Peyton Neil, Liller and Brooklyn Bussard all had one hit each. Good and Peyton Neil both drove in runs.

Highland dropped a home doubleheader to Narrows on Saturday afternoon, losing 4-0 in the opener and 15-12 in game two.

Liller pitched both games for the Rams, allowing a combined nine earned runs and striking out eight.

Holly Gilbert pitched both wins for the Green Wave.

Adams had two hits in game one, while Kristina Neil, Ava Summers and Bussard all had one each.

In game two, Adams had a big game from her leadoff spot, going 4-for-4 and driving in five runs.

Good and Bussard both had two hits and Liller, Kristina Neil, Summers and Hensley Neil all had one. Kristina Neil had two RBI, with Good and Liller driving in one apiece.

The Rams (2-2 Pioneer, 2-4 overall) went to Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday, host Craig County tonight and play at Bath County on Friday.
