My name is Rain Hupman and I will be teaching Spanish and Photography/Yearbook.
I grew up in Botetourt County and attended Community School and Community High School in Roanoke, Virginia. I began Spanish classes in pre-school and continued through college. While in Middle and High School, I traveled to Santa Cruz, Bolivia as an exchange student four times. I began my college experience in Madrid, Spain at Saint Louis University Madrid Campus, then transferred to the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish at the University of Mary Washington. During my time at Mary Washington, I had two internships where I was able to get hands-on experience using Spanish. The first intership was with the Fredericksburg City Police Department and the second was with Rappahannock Legal Services. After graduating, I moved to Bridgewater, Virginia and began working for the language learning software company Rosetta Stone. While at Rosetta Stone I completed a certificate in Project Management with the University of California, Irvine via Coursera. I worked at Rosetta Stone for 5 years before moving to Highland with my husband Michael. I love Highland County and can't wait to teach you Spanish! :)
