Greetings from Caroline Sponaugle, the guidance counselor of
Highland County Public Schools. The staff and students here are great and I am glad to be working among them as the school guidance counselor. It is always my goal to be of greater service to our students and parents. Please call or drop by to see me when you have a question, concern, or something to share.
The middle of seven children, I grew up on a farm in Pendleton County, West Virginia. I have attended Franklin High School, Potomac State College, and James Madison University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree including a major in mathematics and minors in secondary education and general science. I also have a Masters Degree and Certification in School Guidance from JMU.
My husband Jim and I live on the family farm where we raise cattle and turkeys. Our children and their spouses include Michael and Kari Sponaugle, Cathy and Matthew James, and Matthew and Kate Sponaugle. We are super proud of our grandchildren, Caitlyn and Daniel James, as well as Jasper and Clu Sponaugle. Children grow up so fast, which continually reminds me how precious our time with them really is; we need to make the most of every minute spent with those we love.
