Our school theme this year will be "All aboard the Learning Train". Our Accelerated Reader Wall of Fame will feature train engines and cars this year. If you have any train items you are willing to donate, please give me a call.
Our journey or "chugging along" begins today. Everyone needs to be involved. The "passengers" need to listen, participate, and be at school unless they are ill. The "conductors" will provide instruction, practice, guidance, and support along the way. Our staff will provide support and remediation, to prevent any "derailments". Parents and guardians will provide support and guidance on the home front as "stationmasters" and be involved at school whenever possible. I will be the "engineer" keeping all "passengers" on the "right track", providing support, materials, and guidance to all members "aboard the Learning Train". If everyone works together until June 8, 2010, it will be a successful school year for EVERYONE!
In addition to striving for 100% pass rate on all SOL Tests, we will continue to model and expect respect. The entire school community will strive to promote respectful behavior at all times. I am confident when students learn to respect themselves, everyone they come in contact with, their belongings, and other's belongings the result will be a positive and productive atmosophere conducive to learning.
